Message comes with a lot of baggage: 2 turbos, battery pack, electric belt-driven compressor (robbing power while trying to free it up?). Why not go one step further and use regenerative breaking and a big capacitor like the Mazda Skyactiv does? Might've been able to forego the batter pack.

I think it's cool to see all that technology packed into one platform from a technical standpoint; but I don't think it's very practical from a long-term ownership standpoint. Turbo technology today has advanced in so many ways that lag is not a major limiting factor when coupled with direct injection at the 450hp level. Why not use a variable geometry turbo instead of 2 turbos? (A lot of this technology has been around for a long time in the Diesel engine industry btw).

Ball-bearing cams are a good idea; not sure how much friction they will actually overcome vs traditional cams though.
