Message Since my particular Wilwood front calipers are very close to OEM total piston area, for my car I should choose one of their calipers that will be similarly close to OEM total piston area for the rear.

Wilwood has a very wide selection of calipers, but I never bothered to search out the "matching" rear calipers because I have gotten outstanding performance out of my brakes with the current Wilwood front BBK and using Hawk Blue pads on OEM rears.

If I were you, I would find out exactly which calipers you have up front, find out the total piston area from Wilwood, determine what ratio to OEM total piston area is, and then purchase your rear calipers with a piston area that will have the same or close to the same ratio....if that makes sense. Or if you prefer stop tech, do the same but in reverse. Find out the ratio between the ST rear calipers and OEM and see if ST has a front caliper that will be similarly sized.

Total piston area is very crucial. The OEM system is set up/valved for a specific piston area front/rear matched to a specific size BMC. You can't just go picking out calipers and throwing them on the car thinking since they are stoptechs/wilwood/AP/brembo/etc that they will automatically be better. If the piston area front/rear relationship gets thrown out of wack, it wont matter how high quality the hardware is, the braking performance will be out of wack as well....likely worse than stock.
