Summary: I drove in the NASA HPDE group 1 at NJMP on the Thunderbolt track. The track has great lines and an octopus turn that is very challenging. I learned how to handle the Z in ways I’ve never done before. The laws of physics really come into play. The instructors were great. I gained a solid understanding of braking zones and driving smoothly through turns. Overall it was a great time; I plan on going back to this track twice next year. Here is my favorite shot of the day:
My only issue was the drivers were more advanced in my group with top-notch cars (Vettes, Ferrari and Porches) so having them on my rear some of the day was a bit frustrating. During session 2 there was a Camaro on my behind in the turns I decided not to let him pass on the straight, I was up to easily 120 then I braked too early and hard which caused my brakes to over heat there was complete fade. I drove off the track no damage was done. Video below: My track pics:

Session 3 and 4 were great slowed down a bit on the straight worked on getting into the turn 1 correctly. Once you slow down a bit to let someone pass its like pandora's box everyone is catching up to you. Later
