Message that of a 240SX (2700lbs).

However, the SR20DET long block weighs in about 350lbs. A VG30DE (long block, with plenum, no accessories such as PS pump, AC compressor, alternator) is about 420lbs. So maybe at the upper end, you save a 100lbs. Now add in the extra weight of piping, intercooler, etc. You seriously are not shaving 400 lbs of curb weight just by going to an SR20DET.

Really curious how you plan on shaving another 300-400lbs off of a 3100lb slick top to get to the 2700lb assembled curb weight or even lighter - I quote you: "With a chassis that should weigh less than a 240sx with the same setup, I don't see how that would be true considering I had an sr20 in 3 of my s-chassis and it was plenty of power."
