Question about Nissan Consult which would be applicable to Zs as well, but for the sake of explanation, I put together a car computer in my S15 to replace my old stereo headunit.
The system consists of a Raspberry Pi (tiny, ARM-based Linux system), a cheap LCD meant for something's back-up camera and a DVD-RW drive. Power and USB stuff are tucked inside of the glovebox. It plays video, CD, DVD, runs multiple Linux distributions, emulators and browses the internet. The whole setup cost less than $200.
So naturally I want to interface it with the Consult port (mostly just to run codes and monitor voltages; virtual gauges and stuff are not necessary) and I'm wondering if there is currently any Linux-based solution for doing so. I have a basic understanding of the Consult protocol and I've started writing a simple Python script to pull values from the ECU one at a time myself, but I would really appreciate if anyone has any helpful information about coding or software. Is there any existing Consult program out there that could be adapted to run on such a simple system?
