:and fuel system problems with ethanol are vastly overblown. I had a fuel pump failure at 72k miles on my BMW. The BMW tech (who is also a friend of mine) said they (the BMW dealership) had seen an increase in pump failures since the introduction of ethanol in gasoline. I lost a fuel pump and two injectors within a short time span on my 240sx, soon after ethanol was introduced. Granted, the car had a lot of miles, but it sure seemed odd to have 2 injectors and a fuel pump go out within weeks of each other. Heck, I had to replace a carburetor on my brand new lawnmower. I didn't even make it through a full season. Something in the fuel (I suspect it was ethanol) caused the rubber seat in the needle and seat assembly to swell up so that it wouldn't flow any more fuel
