It causes carbon build up and sometimes varnish deposits, getting a reasonable octane is expensive and can be iffy, and it makes your car run hotter than ethanol with higher exhaust and radiator temperatures, your car runs rougher and tuning needs to be more precise. If you get water in your gas, it can't deal with it, although this is more or less a non-issue these days. Don't spill it, it's toxic, it's more corrosive, but this is another non-issue since all fuel stuff has been designed to deal with its corrosive nature, and not as much with ethanol. Basically it's inferior unless the only thing you are concerned with is how much range you have with a full tank.
