Message	Raising compression is an accelerant to the combustion process. That adds heat and pressure. The time it takes to burn all the fuel/air mixture is shortened therefore it takes less crankshaft degrees to extrapolate the combustion forces. A low duration cam will hold that heat in due to the exhaust valve not opening soon enough to get rid of it. The exhaust event starts before BDC and if it doesn't start soon enough then heat in the chamber will increase making an engine detonate prematurely.
