Message I've spent the better half of the fall/winter trying to source four, mint condition, chrome TT rears. After driving all over Houston to look at multiple "near mint" sets and seeing everything from fully bent, cracked, curbed throughout, NA sizing, and playing phone tag and exchanging 1,000 texts, I've come to the conclusion that my best option may be to just have my set refinished/plated. I've read that the caustic process is said to deteriorate and or even pit the surface of aluminum. Seeing as this process was done as a dealer option 25yrs ago to the wheels I viewed, I can definitely say that some still looked great, and some were oxidized away and the plating was in terrible condition. Does anyone have a success story on having theirs plated they would like to share?
