Message separating the transmission first, albeit it takes more time.

I personally don't believe in using a 3ft extension and a swively for removing the top transmission bolts. I find it much easier, and much less chance of moving off to use a regular wrench to crack the bolt loose, then a ratcheting stubby wrench to get it off. Nothing wrong with using an extension, but it is harder for me to do it personally. My arms aren't huge either so they fit up there tightly (I'm 170lbs).

If you want to remove the engine with the transmission attached, I recommend against it. You'll need a leveler to get it out, no other way. The biggest reason I'm against it however, is that it will bang around the front and the rear of the engine bay a plenty fold as you'll need to adjust the leveler every inch. There is a very high chance you're going to peg your AC condenser if doing it this way and cause it to leak. Therefore, I only do this when parting out a car, and removing the condenser first.

If it was my first time, I'd budget 3 nights to get it done. One night to remove the tranny, one night for undoing everything engine related, and a night for the removal of the engine, with lots of buffer room in there. A lot more time for putting it all back in!

Label all your baggies! And store them with their related parts!

Good luck. I learned a huge amount after my first engine pull.
