on the way to the drag strip I couldn't get my drag radials to spin free (on smooth gravel free pavement) even in the top of first gear, call me crazy but I too have NA 4.08 rear, and if I were a betting man I would say my motor puts out more torque to the wheels in first gear than yours does in 3rd at least ;).... also check your rear camber, the closer to 0 the better, especially since our suspension cambers in when it squats.
