Message It's a "GTX-style" wheel, meaning that it's billet, like the true Garrett GTX. It's not an actual GTX wheel.

I'm waiting on a response from Nick to see if Turbos Direct also changed the aero on the billet wheel to match the true GTX style. When Garrett upgraded the GT wheels to GTX, they completely changed the aero design of the wheels in addition to making them billet. I want to see if Turbos Direct also changed the aero design of THIS 2560 when they put in the billet wheels, or is it just an exact copy of a Garrett GT2560, machined out of billet.

Also, the GTX compressor housing has anti-surge porting, which is important for larger turbos, like the GTX2860, but may be less critical for smaller turbos like the 2560. Other than the anti-surge porting, they are the same compressor housings. The difference in compressor housings between a GT2860 and the GTX2860 is the anti-surge port shrouding. Nothing else.

In other words, you can swap compressor housings from a GTX2860 to a GT2860 and the specs will remain the same. No machining required and no changing of tolerances.
