Message Last year I had one die near instantly which lead me to do a complete diagnostic on my Z to find no drain issues. I asked Advance Auto to replace it and after some kicking they did.

I invested in a good multi-meter and found out that the Optima's Advance Auto had were severely discharged from Day 1. They ended up acknowledging it after I had them fully charge one, and then keep it for a couple of days and it dropped back to a minimally acceptable level.

They agreed to order several and let me choose the least discharged one as my replacement. I bought a Ctek 3300 battery charger/maintainer properly conditioned the one I chose and haven't looked back.

As an FYI for those looking for a maintainer, don't cheap out or buy a battery tender jr. it can't keep up with the drain and isn't the best at reviving discharged batteries.
