Message	From what I heard (my next door neighbor actually owns a rim repair shop) powder coating is fine because they only lightly sandblast the old powder off, It's when you have them chrome and re chromed they chemically dip the rims to strip and apply a nickel coating than dip them in the chrome. Every time u re chrome u weaken the rim.
