Message the same situation because even if I owned a street-legal racecar I would never push it beyond the limit in a 45 mph city street lined with obstacles galore that are NOT designed to absorb and mitigate impact and with a paved surface not intended to be safe for anything approaching the speeds necessary to shear a vehicle in two.

THAT is what makes me different. I take it to a track. On a track I will never have to worry about someone cutting in front of me, pulling out in front of me from a driveway or parking lot entrance, whether the road paint or other surface imperfections can cause me to lose traction and consequently control of my car. And if I do get in over my head and crash I know there are barricades in place to at a very least absorb some of the speed prior to hitting anything else, there are all kinds of safety equipment and personnel on site, there is run-off space, room for error, etc etc etc.....it blows my mind this has to be broken down for anyone supposedly considering themselves a car guy.

"....none of you can fault him for having done this on some back roads of public streets"

WOW, just WOW. You could not have possibly be more wrong. You ABSOLUTELY CAN fault him for having done this. In fact, had he survived he would absolutely be facing criminal charges for the death of his passenger. Even having died in the crash, the Rodas Estate better have some good lawyers, this was no "accident", this was the far too common result of stupidity (granted this level of stupidity is *relatively* rare among people driving $600k Porsches vs your typical dumbass driving a Z28, or Z32). And sick as it may be to say so, the fact is that this is an overly-litigious country, with SoCal being the MECCA of civil litigation, and the Walker family has had a family member taken from them who was easily worth millions in future F&F earnings alone. There are literally dozens of lawyers right now as I write this who are already lining up how they can recover that loss for his daughter and her mother, along with their cut. Don't think it won't happen because it will.

So yeah, I can say I wouldnt find myself in that situation, and it has nothing to do with my "driving abilities" or "my car", it has everything to do with the fact that I would never exercise such shitty judgement to do something THAT reckless with a 600+ hp car on a city street. Doing a little speeding on an open stretch of freeway is NOT the same thing as what took place here. "It isn't the same ballpark. It ain't even the same fuckin' sport."--Jules Winfield

If that is being "high on your horse" in your opinion, then you have miserably low standards. In fact I would say you might want to consider picking the bar up off the ground.

"What a curiosity our new political correctness has made of our public spaces. Let your sex tape loose on the Internet and be rewarded with your own TV show;
photograph a crucifix in a jar of urine and our museums will vie to exhibit it; occupy someone else’s property and you will be hailed by the president for your keen social conscience.
But call people who blow up, behead, and mutilate, “savage” — and polite society will find you offensive."
