Message If your motor is fresh, you have your safety boost solenoids hooked up, knock sensor is functioning properly, car is tuned well (not running lean), you have a timing light, and you know your crankshaft timing mark is accurate, then you may be able to get away with it.

Take away one thing, you may destroy your engine.

If you have an aftermarket knock sensor AND your safety boost system still functions, then by all means go for it and see what happens.

BTW, your ECU adjusts timing in your sparks to advance as much as 45 degrees BTDC depending on conditions, which is why advancing the base timing more may cause preignition.
