Message I had some people wanting to know what exactly I have been talking about. So here are some pics.

I like to say that this clutch worked very well it grabbed like crazy and is probably the best all out single disk with the most holding power.

I am just warning about its use on the street and its longevitity. I probably could have driven on this clutch for a few more miles but since I had the engine and tranny out I figured why wait till a few months and have to pull the transmission then.

If you notice the center of the flywheel by the bolts its is grey thats all metal shavings. When we first seperated the trans for the engine a hole bunch of that stuff fell to the ground.

I didn't put on the macro function in this picture.. But you can see the scaring of the flywheel..

What really caused the flywheel to get scared up was that the disk material had worn down to the rivets... As you can see in this picture.

As you can see there was plenty of material left on the bottom side of the disk which is what meets up with the pressure plate but the area that meets with the flywheel was completely worn.

Now I slipped this clutch and drove it like a regular clutch around the streets getting on it once in a while but no real madman stuff like revving to 5K and dropping 20 times. I think at max I revved to 3.5K and dropped it twice (and it held very well).

So my final assestment of this clutch is that it holds great but just had too short of a lifespan on the streets.

I am switching over too a RPS Stage III Turbo Carbon which has a sprung hub, with three copper pucks, and three carbon pucks, I don't expect to hold as much power but I am hoping it will last a little longer. Though I expect to be just as rough on the flywheel.

On a side note I got some information back from Vitek they have a 4 puck disk which is spring loaded and they will make an extreme heavy duty pressure plate to mate with it. Also they have an alum flywheel which weighs a mere 9.5lbs I am hoping to visit them soon and get some pictures. One of the Vitek engineers actually owned a 300ZX with upgraded turbos and is aware what is needed for the car. So I may even put this disk and clutch on my car instead.
