There are hundreds and hundreds of high horsepower builds running no dampener for decades at this point. The verdict is in. If everything else is right, the impact of losing the harmonic dampening is fairly minimal. If the cost isn't a big deal and you want the extra safety, certainly the dampening isn't a bad thing, but the evidence clearly shows that undamped isn't that bad either.
