Message	I actually just spoke with ATI about this very topic. They believe that additional RPM and additional horsepower necessitate the need for one. On our engines somewhere around the 450-500hp mark. According to them its about a 50/50 split on the need for dampening (RPM VS Increased HP) Now obviously your engine wont fall apart at 500hp if you don't have one and it might not even cost justify itself for the additional longevity but increased HP does increase the need.
