| Those are run independently and not part of UPS directly. They make their money by inflating shipping rates and packaging items for people with overpriced shipping supplies. Go directly to a UPS counter. I brought a package labeled and ready to go to a UPS store once and got a quote. It seemed high so I asked the owner (yes the owner, not the kid working the counter) if they inflated their rates. Of course he said absolutely not. Well I decided to check for myself. I went to the local UPS counter and got it shipped for FAR less than what UPS Store quoted me. I returned to the UPS Store and showed him the receipt and the bird. It helps to build a good working rapport with the UPS counter guy too. He has saved me 100's of dollars over the years by shaving weight and sizes to keep costs reasonable so I buy him lunch every now and then. Shipping an entire turbo back exhaust shouldn't be more than 100 bucks even if it's going completely across the country. Packing materials can get surprisingly expensive though.
