Message For titanium rods you're looking on average at around 1800-2200 for a set of rods. There are some things to consider.

Obviously cost is a big thing. Price per rod is excessively priced. If the engine throws a rod bearing etc, the rods will cut through the block rather than deform so be prepared to have another block on hand in the even the rotating assembly lets loose. Rotational weight has a ratio of 1 to 7. Loosing 1lb of rotational weight, is like loosing 7pds of static weight. Titanium will oxidize at high temptures. When going to assembly they require a special lubricant for the rod caps. Im not talking about ARP lube either. Its an anti galling friction lube designed for titanium rods. Titanium rod desnsity though are approx 60% that of steel. Elasticity is nearly half. So there is less room for forgiveness using this material.

In comparison, you'd be MUCH better off running a steel rod over a titanium IF you are planning to street the car more often than not. The majority of companies who run titanium are after every ounce of performance from lightening the rotating assembly to sustaining higher RPM limits. The standard Pauter steel rods are MORE than adequate and IMO the best on the market for the VG30. The ridge beam design is extremely tough and durable, not to mention its the only rod while in a dynamic state that cuts windage in the crankcase. All H-Beam rods will "cup" the windage which is similar to a parachute in water. Drag on the rotating assembly is a plague for all engines so the more you can cut through it effectively the better off you are.
