Message	Last time I changed my front brake pads, I somehow installed one of them backwards, with the pad surface towards the piston and the metal back of the pad towards the rotor. Didn't notice it till I went to bed the pads in the next morning. After getting up to speed, suddenly experienced a horrible metal-on-metal grinding sound when I hit the brakes. Moral of the story: avoid working on your car late at night after several martinis.
