I think you are thinking stock NA swapped to stock TT. If you are planning on refubishing and upgrading with all the current aftermarket performance adders then a 20+ year old stock TT still needs a lot of work anyways. All the big money is in the upgrades - the car itself is basically just a shell. For example, my SlickTTop was totally stock (even a virgin airbox) when I bought it. Now virtually every system has been modded or refurbished. If I had purchased a stock TT, my mod list would have been virtually identical except I basically would not have needed a TT short block (which arguably is fairly valued by the spread in the cost of a stock unmodded NA versus a stock unmodded TT).
