Message The 330 cfm figure we are working towards is for the race port. Once we have achieved that figure all we then will have to do is a percentage drop in cross section throughout the port and you will have smaller port design. With that you will see more airspeed. However the cylinder head is only as good as the camshaft will allow so its very important to match the components well. Key though is to obtain the highest airspeed matched with a particular cam. Cams are THE ONLY component that can be matched to a cylinder head.

Harry, the valves we plan to program around are the 1mm OS valves either Manley or Ferrea...whichever you prefer...both have the same OD dimension. But the beauty of this is that if ppl so choose to keep a stock valve all we have to do is scale the port design down to accommodate for the valve area and you have a properly situated cylinder head.

My suggestion to those going for big power is to go with the 1mm option for valve size. The valve to bore area is only at a mere 32% which the sweet spot for valve area to bore size on a DOHC is 54%. So while some like to run a .5mm in fear that its more apt to be better based on bore size its actually not enough. Even at a stock valve we are only at a tiny 30% valve area so you will absolutely gain power over the entire scale using a 1mm valve. You can certainly step up to even larger valves if you are in the market to really push some numbers. The nice thing about doing the programming is that once its done all that has to be done is scaling to appropriate the correct valve size to ensure the transition and cross section are matched accordingly. This will eliminate a lot of headaches. But this will be the new standard for ported cylinder heads for the VG30. I'm quite eager to get a few sets done and running on a few built engines.
