Message LED's behind the buttons, yes?

If so - I did mine about 7 years back and the same on the opposite pod too. Green or Red LED's would be a direct easy replacement. Just unsolder the old ones and install the new ones - keep board heating to a minimum since a few solder pads are pretty small and can lift easily.

In my case I went with Blue LEDs (white would be the same issue). The engineering for those is more tricky - especially to make sure they dim down correctly during nighttime running. I had to come up with an arrangement to supplement the Orange LED current limiting resistors (~330 ohms) with a higher value since the Blue LEDs have different electrical characteristics. This was somewhat tricky to make work right and have the LEDs dim down nicely too.

Whatever LED color you decide to go with, be sure to bench test the LEDs for color match consistency before soldering to the circuit board. Buy more LEDs than you need for mixing/matching.

I never did a write-up for these and its been a long time since doing so my memory is a bit foggy on the details....
