| The IC ducts consume space and add turbulence and restriction to the free movement of air thru the grille openings to the surface of the intercooler. I'm not disputing that you need to confine and contain the air. But the splash guards and bumper cover already do that job. Adding another layer of plastic to directly impact airflow is detrimental especially on massive size SM intercoolers in the z32 application. For the same reasons fog light ducts are a silly cosmetic mod. Forcing air thru a smaller space does more to add turbulence and disturb/reduce airflow. The IC ducts on the z32 especially aftermarket are not scientifically engineered to move air from an area of high pressure to low pressure efficiently, which air does naturally on its own already. I am yet to see a technical comparison or even a dyno of ducting vs without ducting. Surprising our studious population here doesn't care to know the facts. There are some high performance applications where inlet designs are critical to performance, ie fighter jets, but the Z32, believe it or not, is not one of these applications.
