| I've done 14 events now and only once have I seen a z32 out there, and surprisingly it was a girl(she was hot too) with a very clean emerald green NA. Unfortunately she blew something up on the first day and was done for the weekend. Poor girl, I wanted to talk to her but I was busy swapping pads and wheels on my car. Anyway the point of my post is that realistically the z32 is not a very good track car without some serious work and money. It is heavy, complicated, and expensive. The consumables(tires, brakes) are larger and more expensive than many track cars, plus there will rarely be someone else with spare parts at the track if you break something. I would like to hear the input of guys that actually track their Zs. Do you use the stock brake system? What else have you modified for track use? I decided to keep my pretty Z for the street and build an e36 BMW(non M). I've got less than $15k into mine(including car purchase) and I have a fully competition ready car with spares weighing in around 2500lbs without driver. It's easy to work on, parts are ridiculously cheap and everywhere, consumables are small and cheap, and the best part is...with some used r-compound tires(take offs from the continental series) and stock brakes with good pads, it is faster than all the Ferraris and gt3s around the track! It's hard to believe it only has 180hp lol!!! I am really interested in taking my Z out to the track one day just to compare though. 500hp on the back straight at road Atlanta would be pretty epic! Any words from guys that track their z32s?
