| Especially at 25k. If I were you, I wouldn't spend more than 15k on a GTR, and that's if you really wanted one, just for the car. Also, being completely honest here: Don't bother. I bought a RHD Z32 when we were first eligable here. It was great, lots of heads turning and all the attention it got, mainly because it was RHD...but it got very annoying at times. I'm not talking about left turns and drive thru's. I'm talking about getting caught picking your nose. Everybody is literally staring at you. Then comes this part. Give it 5 years of an allowance of the vehicle in the US, and the "fad" will be over. You'll be looked at as another one of "those guys" and everybody will think it's stupid. Apart from the cool factor, driving a RHD sucks balls. Also, the value of RHD cars went down fast after the first few years people were importing them. I just sold one of my RHD TT's for $4500 that was fairly mint. If it was LHD, it would be $7-8000. Big difference. I know i'm drifting a bit off here, but one last thing: If you're going to buy an 89 GTR, buy it now from someone in Ontario or Quebec (if you're from NY) or BC if you're a WA boy, and ship it down to your garage and park it until it is eligible. We are not stupid, and we will raise our prices in accordance to the importation laws that allow the sales to the US. It will be a car that is readily available throughout Canada (you don't have to wait 3 months for the boat to dock, you get much better documentation than a ugly ass auction picture and tiny form that states the conditions of the car). It is a car that people will want, and as the demand goes up, so will the price from us Canadians. RHD cars are at a real low right now in terms of prices. Now's the time. [ http://vancouver.craigslist.ca ] it up! Bottom line: Fun car, very different feeling, but only buy it if YOU really want to. Not just as a "oh let's see what this car is like". If you buy it, it means you were waiting 10 years for this moment. Don't waste your time otherwise. It's capable of big power, but so is your VG. And don't bother with the GTS GTST whatever. They're poo. If you're getting it, get the GTR.
