Message I ran the Megan 4-bolt downpipes and testpipes along with a Borla exhaust before the 3" stuff was available.

One downpipe had a pin-hole that required some welding where the exhaust wheel/wastegate split meets.

The wastegate separator required some grinding because it wouldn't mate to the turbo quite right.

The testpipes themselves worked fine, just the fasteners and gaskets were low quality.

The bottom line is, the Megan stuff is an entry level modification. For $200 on Ebay you can get stainless steel downpipes and testpipes combo to your door. That's a pretty inexpensive solution. Are there better options available? Absolutely. Will they be more expensive? Yup. Will the Megan pipes require additional work to fit? Most likely.

But depending on what you want, that may be acceptable to you.

Bear in mind, 10 years ago when performance parts weren't as readily available for the Z, the same people scoffing at the Megan crap would be delighted to get a SS downpipe/testpipe setup for $200, regardless of the extra work to make them fit. Now there are better options available for a premium price.
