| So, fresh from the 'ring, I head to Stuttgart and the Porsche Museum & Factory @ Zuffenhausen. No pics allowed in the factory :( but an incredible place nonetheless, like a university campus with all the buildings, walkways and interconnected passages. Saw the upholstery shop, engine assembly area & production line. I've been to several factories (most memorably Steinway & Sons pianos in NYC and Boeing in Everett WA) but this was by far the best, you literally got up close and personal with the line workers, watched cars & engines get assembled inches from your face (stay behind the yellow line) and talk to the marketing execs who ran the tour. All sports cars built there (Panamera & Cayenne built in Liepzig) and all built on the line simultaneously, Boxster, Cayman, and every 911 variant. Tons of pride there, from the factory workers to the execs, they really love their product in a quiet, Teutonic fashion. Anyway, they had no restrictions on pics at the museum, and as it was the 50th anniversary of the 911, they had some nice ones: Dr. Ferdinand's original 1939 designed aluminium body, left outside for years to show how it can take weathering:
911 Ancestors:

but it was all about the 911 this year:

Road legal GT1 built for homologation requirements:

And the racecars:

A few non 911's were there:

Awesome 959 Paris-Dakar rally unit:
... and I was hoping they'd have the road car on display:

So... what to do after the Porsche museum? Why, get one and run it down the Autobahn, of course.

Brand new 911 C2S with 600km on the odo:
Best place for a parkade? Over the Autobahn, of course:
Have to have at least one attitude pic:
MEANWHILE IN FRANCE:
My wife was on a tour and stopped at a museum in a smaller city, turns out it's about 100 km from Molsheim, home of Bugatti:

Some incredible old Peugots:

Ancient Mercedes:
And racecars:

Goofy Bugatti race car nicknamed 'The Tank'... looks like a Logitech mouse:

But the Crown Jewel, 12 000 000 Euro Type 41 Bugatti Royale, built for Ettorio Himself:
Sorry for the shitty pics, she didn't expect this level of cars and took a few for me... As awesome as my Germany trip was, I'm seriously jealous of her side trip to this incredible museum. Yes, they had a Veyron, her pic was really blurry. Definitely going to hit this place on a return trip. Cheers,
