Message I've always wanted to build an engine test stand but just haven't found the time to go pickup the materials and construct it.... then it dawned upon me - I have the *perfect* engine test stand -in the front clip we use to develop products!

So I took apart a few old harnesses last night to gather up all of the connectors needed to make a wiring harness and went to work at it. This harness incorporates CAS, MAS, CTS, TPS, IACV, PTU, all 6 injectors and all 6 coil packs. I have also braided the wires for the consult diagnostic port to add the connector in place so I can connect this to our DynoJet computer during engine fireup/testing so as to monitor the engine, power balance test, etc etc.

We pulled a transmission bell housing last night which we will cut up just to get the section necessary to hold the starter for cranking. I've got a little more wiring to do to incorporate a master power switch, a starting switch, consult connector and primary power for the electrics and then I'll be constructing a "Y" pipe for the intake which will hold a single MAS sensor for induction metering. i'll also be applying loom to the entire harness to clean its appearance up - gotta have that "pro" look to it.

In addition, I'll be constructing an exhaust system that brings a set of non-turbo exhaust manifolds together into a common baffle-chamber muffler to quiet her down so we can clearly hear the engine. This will be a great addition to our engine building process as we will be able to easily strap them in and fire them off to verify that the engines are working properly, producing proper oil pressure, leak-free, proper static compression, noise-free, etc etc....
