first I checked the power to the coils when it wasn't starting and there was no permanent live, traced that back to the Ign Coil relay. Relay works fine, and also started when I bridged it with some wire. So then I ran a new live to all the coils so at least it started! It was still running roughly, so doing the usual remove a coil pack connector one at a time. All made a difference on the pass side, but no changes on driver side when unpluggin one at a time. Unplugged all the driver side ones so it running on three, then reconnected one on driver side at a time, and each cylinder would fire, but not multiple ones.Wired a new earth to those coils and it thankfully ran on all 6
