Why not fix up and sell. If you pay $1500 for it, make it your summer project. Interior and exterior panels can be found semi-easily from an auto wrecker or someone parting their car semi-locally. The rest of the costs seem to be just gaskets, and your time. Maybe soldering a new connector here and there, put vacuum lines back in. Don't feel confident fixing it up? Just do it on that car and learn. That's what I did. As long as it's not your dd, just do it. I bought a z last September that was in SHIT condition, ran like poo, had a lot of aftermarket goodies. Paint in horrible condition. I paid $2200 for it. I've since, sold about 80% of the aftermarket parts, putting old OEM parts back on it, and I've made back my $2200 already. Did my first cut polish and wax on Easter long weekend and learned how to do that and the car looks amazing! And ChaChing, someone is picking up the car today for $5500. Save the car. You won't lose $1500.
