More torque would have helped. Since both cars are turbocharged, the difference in displacement really comes into play. A more modern (wider) suspension would have helped the 240 too. ...And ABS brakes with huge disks. ...And maybe even power steering. Does anybody here know the difference in weight between an RB26 (+ transmission) and the 370Z's engine (+ two turbos + transmission)? I'd guess they're pretty close in weight. Ultimately, Gordon's build was a labor of love. I think MotorTrend did a good job of capturing that. He didn't have the bottomless pockets of Nissan, but he is very resourceful, and did a great job with what he had. His documentation and attitude are first rate too.
