Blowing out a rear tire is not nearly as dangerous as blowing out a front tire imo. You barely even feel a rear blowout at highway speeds, due to the centrifugal force pulling the tire out. Its not until you slow down a bit when you really feel it. At least thats ive noticed in my experience. I doubt 10y/o brand new tires will even show signs of dry rot but I've drifted on and drove 120+ on SUPER dry rotted rear tires i use for drift spares without ever blowing one out. No matter how much dry rot a tire has it is still a steel belted radial and is not just going to blow apart like an old balloon. Come on...
