ESPECIALLY rural areas because of the constant rpm changes. On the freeway however, it's a different story. If I'm driving anywhere from 30min to 1hr straight w/ no music and just the sound of the car, I seriously get a partial hearing loss effect due to the drone @60-ish. I don't know if this is an effect of having the resonators directly under you as opposed to say the X-pipe, but sometimes I'll have a very slight ringing in my ears after coming to my final destination. With the top up which I've only driven very short 2-5 miles drives, it's unbearable to me. btw, I'm one of those guys that always wears my ear plugs in louder environments at work and what not. I'm seriously considering wearing something light or using cotton balls to diffuse some of the sound. Compared to my old TT which had a 2.5" exhaust and nowhere near the work I've done to this one, this thing sounds like an animal and the 2.5" was very driveable. Hope this helps!
