| So what would you do in this situation..... You decide to invest in your Z for the long term (20 years) and do it right by buying a new IPP long block, turbos, injectors, harness, lifters etc etc and had about 10k+ worth of brand new engine installed by a recommended Z mechanic at about 88,000 miles and five years ago approximately. You explain that you dont race, and just want an extremely safe build that will last for 20 years and 100-150k miles at about 4-5k miles a year. You even get a verbal warranty that you will be taken care of. From the beginning there are issues with engine, leaks, detonation, very rough idle, and other such items. Your never quite comfortable with the job that has been done but since your not a mechanic you trust that they are doing whats right for you. Fast forward a year or two and you really want to understand why your engine leaks and the car runs bad etc etc so you take it into the same mechanics shop and while replacing a seal they forget to put oil in the car, start it and run it until the engine seizes. At least they tell you what they have done. Your car then sits for about 6-8 months while they try to figure out what to do and how they are going to fix it. The mechanic finally convinces you to spend about $1500 to machine the now warped heads and they slap the engine back together. Again with a warranty that will transfer with sale and assurances that you will be taken care of. Again the noises, rough idle, leaks, etc etc Fast forward a year or two and you finally are tired of dealing with this shop and you take it to a different and more reputable shop to diagnose a failed injector and to do a complete inspection as you are extremely wary. This shop proceeds to send you a huge list of issues including terrible workmanship and worse that you have a failed engine at around 130k and only about about 13k miles from when it was ran without oil. The quote at this new shop without getting into the engines internals to make sure nothing else is ruined is almost 11k. Please advise what I should do here. This is a very true story and one that no car owner should go thru. I am at my last straw and am considering all options including legal ones, BAR, fixing it, other engine options, parking it for 20 years etc etc. I may be interested in selling it as it sits. CA car, lots of quality upgrades, excellent and close to mint condition, Arctic white/black leather, No grinds, no rust, no BS
