Message I didnt want to post this too early because I wanted to see how the gasket would hold up. I installed it back in december and for the first 1000 miles there was no leaks. Well recently, I noticed a leak on the back of the engine dripping off the dust plate from the transmission. I knew it was either the rear main seal or the oil pan gasket. A couple of years ago I installed a new rear main seal when I upgraded the clutch but it was a felpro. I decided to drop the transmission and replace the rear main with an OEM one. I looked at the oil pan gasket to insure it was sitting in the groove of the rear main seal retainer. I could see visible wear on the felpro one so I was hoping this was it. Today I finished up the install and test drove the car only to discover the leak was still there. It is not as bad as before but it is still there. I chose this kit because the engine is still in the car and I scared I might accidently smear the RTV on reinstallation. When I installed it I also forgot to pull the dipstick out and when I installed the oil pan I had to drop it to get the dipstick out. I thought the gasket was a lifesaver at that moment but now I regret it. I think ill just go to ash and have him replace it with oem seals and rtv. I still dont trust myself on this part.
