Message The biggest issue that we have is that people assume that it is a fix all product. If you are having oiling issues it is not preferable to just use an accusump instead of fixing the actual issue you are having. We find that a well baffled oil pan and an Accusump is a good enough system until you decide to step up into a full on dry sump setup. There are various reasons for a motor to blow up even with an Accusump that have more to do with the setup then the Accusump itself. As previously stated, if you have an issue with your oiling system the first step is to get a good oil pan with trap doors and a proper setup. Once you've done that the Accusump should be able to supplement your setup. The second part to the Accusump is to make sure you have it set up the correct way. The easiest way is to just use a manual valve. In turn the Accusump acts as an extra oil reserve that will react only to the pressure of your motor. Any gaps in oiling will be filled in by oil from the Accusump. The problem we see with setting it up that way is that if your motor is in constant need of that oil pressure boost you will empty the Accusump too quickly. This reason is why we recommend the EPC switches. This ensures that the Accusumps only discharge when you get to a certain pressure so that the Accusump isn't filling in gaps that are not threats to your bearings. We have three different pressure settings and usually picking the right pressure is crucial.
