With the cooling season just about upon us here in the South, I have again begun considering fixing the a/c in my '94 TT. The TCA (thermo control amplifier), an evaporator freeze prevention system fitted to r134a cars is malfunctioning. Rather than cutting off the compressor at 34F it does so circa 44F reducing cooling significantly. The TCA (a fancy temp sensor) is mounted to the evap box and the sensing element is on the discharge face of the evap. Evap box has to come out.
Has anyone with a 1994 and later car attempted this repair?
