The pieces that they are talking about are drains for the baffle in the upper part of the valve cover. They all age from the heat of our engines, get brittle and break. I think his point that yours is a 90 was just meaning that yours are the oldest possible, so very likely to break. FWIW mine broke from my '92 original motor in '05. Tell the powdercoater not to worry.
