IMO there is no way to confirm the engine is serviceable (why is it out in the first place?) Also since you cannot test drive the vehicle, there is no way to detect any number of otherwise expensive repairs and/or defects. If the body, paint and interior are in good shape, my cost accounting would be to estimate the value of the roller; then add $3-$4000 for engine, trans, driveline, electrical, etc. repairs.
