| For everyone wanting to retain their stock brake calipers, I have been talking to the guys over at DB power about making brake pistons for our calipers. They currently sell solid stainless steel pistons but after talking with them they said they can make vented stainless steel pistons as well. To those who dont know what a vented caliper piston is [ http://shop.britishracinggroup.com/Stainless-Steel-HP-Caliper-Pistons-BRG-BOESSHPCP.htm ] The Lotus guys are using these to squeeze performance out of their stock brake calipers. These caliper pistons DB power makes are Grade 303 Stainless steel. [ http://www.db-power.co.uk/index.php?cPath=128_148_230_411 ] Seems like a good upgrade. I look forward to trying these stainless steel vented pistons out. And I will also mention, I posted about project mu's aluminum pistons awhile back and the disadvantages outweigh the advantages of running an aluminum piston. Most due to the fact that aluminum absorbs heat too rapidly and for a brake piston that is very bad and causes the fluid to boil quicker.
