| I bought this 96tt with a broken timing belt last year as my project to have a Z again. Since I couldn't hear it run or drive I got it for a "good price". So last week I pulled the engine to see what really was broken. To my pleasant surprise, only 4 bent valves. 2 intake valves in #2 cylinder and 2 exhaust valves in #4. This is what I was hoping for. The PO actually paid someone to put another timing belt on to check compression. 2 and 4 had low pressure. The other good things with the car is that he already built the bottom end, one turbo is in great shape, the other has a little wiggle, cylinders look good, it has an RPS clutch, HKS full exhaust, JWT intake. Going to do the heads and get it running. So excited to maybe have a Z again.
