Message I can't really elaborate much further as I have not done anything to prove one way or the other. But I have solid "word of mouth" information about some bad machining on some batches of the 500 cams that will cause substantial power loss. I *might* set out to prove this myself some time this year if possible, but the shame of it is that at least a popular member or two here already know about it. It would be nice if they posted their findings.

I'm not accusing anyone of protecting JWT, but I'm highly suspicious.

I would imagine that for a small company like JWT, it would be a big issue if they had to recall several sets of cams. My suspicions are that this is why it's been kept under wraps. I hope I'm wrong. But If it looks like crap, smells like crap, it's probably crap. And I'm also not saying that this is your issue in particular. It's easy to see if you have a poorly machined set of cams if you put an otherwise properly running car on the dyno and see the power numbers substantially down, swap out for stock cams for example, and the numbers go back up (or the reverse is true as well).

E-mail me offline if you want to get pointed in the right direction on who to talk to that might be able to provide you some insight.
