Could it be government auctioning off special statuses to groups who purchase influence?
Or government interfering in markets by granting special status to money spent on government's pet projects that always seem to have bought influence with government officials?This gets done so many times that suddenly it is very easy for people once they accumulate some wealth, then they are naturally more involved in the economy that they are bound to find enough these little "exceptions" to the rule in their naturally increased economic activity vs a poor person that they can string a lot of them together and drastically reduce the amount of money that is taken away from them. And yet THEY are the ones causing the problem? The individual, by employing the same sense that likely earned them their "wealthy" status to employ laws put in place by a senseless government in order to retain more of their earnings. Yeah the individual is the one to blame. Not the corrupt practice of auctioning off influence and privileged status? Did the individual create the policies? Is the individual behaving in an irrational and arbitrary manner? Yet I am to blame the individual, slander him with derogatory name-calling, turn him into a social pariah........assuming my indoctrination sets in properly This all ignores the fact that the rest of society is better off with an individual spending their own "sheltered" money than with government spending that same "sheltered" money. When an individual spends money he spends it far more wisely than our government does. He doesn't buy electric cars that cant even travel 50 miles on a charge. He doesnt flush it down the toilet on trumped up bogus solar companies that only have a company because they donated money to a political campaign and got a nice generous loan they couldnt afford in return. They dont hand it over to people who are incompetent and offer little if any value by way of service or product in return, but rather because they "deserve" it, because they have been granted a special status due to their social status, the color of their skin, their political affiliation, their sexual orientation, or whatever irrelevant claim is being accepted today as a legitimate demand for what should be otherwise surrendered only voluntarily.....all at the expense of the person who is competent and offers a service or product of quality that the individual is willing to pay the agreed price for. So where is the motivation for competency and quality? This "sheltered" money is never in a cigar box or stuffed between mattresses someplace either. Typically it is invested in soem holding somplace or at a minimum in a bank....where it then is furthering economic activity someplace else. people Start businesses and projects based on INVESTMENTS made by someone else. Banks are able to make loans based on what deposits they take in, and so long as the government doesnt interfere with their practices, they are inclined to make loans based on wise criteria and not just loan to whoever based on whatever political flavor-of-the-month criteria. This is infinitely better than giving this same money to a government who has proven themselves incompetent and out-of-control, with no regard for established law, and blatantly practicing mafia-esque cronyism with money confiscated from others. If anything, in today's America, "sheltering" your money could not be more patriotic. You couldn't do your neighbor a bigger favor by opting out of this corrupt and morally bankrupt political mafia whenever possible.
