Message Since your profile says you have a 1990 Z you'll find you can fit round 6 to 6.5" speakers in the rear speaker enclosures. The front enclosures will need to be removed and something else put in their place to hold the new speakers. You can use the original wires with no need to cut anything. That is, if your new speaker terminals are the same size as most standard speakers in the size of around 6".

Open the OEM amp/speaker enclosures and remove the amps. Unplug the harness from the amps so you can use it.

Make little jumpers out of 12 to 14 gage solid copper electrical wiring. The same type that's used in your house wiring.

Put the jumpers in the speaker enclosure harness plugs like they are in these pictures. These are the plugs that went to the amps.

Either buy the newer style speaker brackets for the front speakers or make your own out of something like modular board.

For the head unit, do like everyone said and get the adaptor harness so you don't have to mess up the original harness.

Available at several places. Here's one.

Also get the antenna cable adaptor. The Nissan OEM antenna plug has two pins and most head units will only have a one pin socket.

You can find them at several places too. Here's one.
