| There are advantages to both 2 post and 4 post lifts. You can park under a 2 post lift-just have to remember that the wheels on the elevated car will hang down below the lift arms-not much of a deal on Zs as they are so low (so can be elevated higher towards the roof). Two post lifts are GREAT for wheel/tire/brake/suspension work-a lot more is exposed and accessible than a 4 post lift. No more squatting on the floor-WHOPPEE 4 post lifts are essentially storage lifts-though you can get under the car for working on the center of the vehicle-like oil changes. 2 post lifts have fewer posts to bang into-by either you or your vehicle. I have three Bendpak asymmetrical (the posts are twisted 45 degrees from parallel to the length of the vehicle-allows you to open the doors while the car is on/under the lift) two post lifts- each of these lifts work with either my F-550 dually utility truck (about 10k weight) or my Zs with only adjusting the collapsible lift arms-about a 1 minute job. I bought the elevated cross bar as it makes negotiating things (like motorcycles, handtrucks, and engine stands possible versus impossible. I had the electrician (my local code required that the 220/240v work be certified) install double duplex electrical outets about 6' from the ground on each of the lift posts (running to junction boxes on the ceiling above the lifts). No more extension cords-WHOOPEE. Also a LED security floodlight installed towards the bottom of each post- I CAN SEE!! (and the LED lights and fixtures don't burn you like halogen does). As with any two post lift, lift the car about 6" and try to bounce it around to make sure the car is firmly on the lift. NO LIFT PADS UNDER THE ROCKER PANELS-YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR GAPS AND PANELS STRAIGHT AFTER YOU'VE LIFTED ON THE PINCH WELD ON THE LOWER ROCKER PANELS.
