Welcome to the area! Prepare yourself to be raped on housing costs, which don't care how big you are. Luckily you're going to be out a bit from DC, so it won't be quite as bad as Arlington or Alexandria. Maybe look in Centreville or Chantilly, though that'll put you almost an hour from Bernie's, which ends up being a central location for gathering. Reston and Herndon can be kind of nice, only about 30 minutes out of DC (which still can feel like it's WAAAY over there, especially in traffic - oh yeah, it'll make you wonder why you even own a sportscar, or, really, anything that can go over 3rd gear), and about 45 minutes to B's.
