withstand heat much better than the aluminum ones. During a typically spirited commute, I could hop out and the aluminum ones are pretty hot to the touch, whereas the iron calipers on the same drive are actually cool to the touch, not even warm. Based only on experience and no real evidence, it seems to me that our aluminum ones heat up and dissipate heat faster than iron, but the iron suckers take quite a while to heat up from the start.
